Grace Mountain Agency is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is core to our mission of elevating the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Our standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA — the standard adopted by the U.S. Department of Justice’s 2026 ADA rule for public-facing websites of state and local governments and entities receiving federal financial assistance, including Medicaid-funded providers.
What we’ve done
- Semantic HTML throughout — headings in proper hierarchy, lists where lists belong.
- Color contrast meeting WCAG AA minimums for body text and UI controls (verified against the canonical brand palette).
- Keyboard-navigable: every interactive element is reachable and operable from the keyboard.
- Visible focus states on all interactive elements.
- Descriptive alt text on imagery, and empty
alton purely decorative images. - Form labels associated with their inputs (when forms ship), with required-field indicators communicated as text, not color alone.
- No auto-playing motion that could cause vestibular discomfort. We respect
prefers-reduced-motion. - Text remains readable at 200% zoom without loss of content or function.
Ongoing work
- Continued audit against WCAG 2.1 AA on every release.
- Captioned and transcribed video content as we add it.
- User testing with people who use assistive technology, including screen readers and voice control.
